Imagine a world just like ours. But older and therefore much more advanced.

Now imagine someone in that world discovered how the universe was created. Let’s just say it was a big bang and this guy figured out what it took to make this big bang.

So he tried to recreate it.

And it worked.

And that’s where we come in.

That’s why I don’t denounce the possibility of a “higher power” that created us.

The Trouble With Society

People are looking for ideal activism. If something is unrealistic, no one seems to care.

People will rally around a cause and a few people will point out that circumstances could be better, and all of the sudden, no one cares.

Like “No, no, no! This charity isn’t good enough. We will just have to wait for someone richer to care”.

The things worth fighting for are never realistic. That’s why we have to fight for them.

Is it likely Kony will be stopped in 2012? Not at all. But we should fight like it is.

You say Invisible Children is bull shit. You need to remember that like 10 years ago, a group of young guys went to Uganda with their own money. Just a group of regular dudes. Now nearly the entire internet is talking about them. I’d say that counts as something. They make incredible movies, they raise awareness, they have done their job. They also do and have done a lot more work than just trying to get Kony stopped.

Maybe they haven’t gone about things the best way they could have. That’s too bad. But they saw something wrong and set out to change it. That’s more than most people can say. No one was focusing on it, so they started focusing on it.

Invisible Children have the best intentions. They are not trying to scam anyone.

Got this Invisible Children sticker back in 2006 when they came to my school to raise awareness.

It was the first cause I felt really passionate about. I donated 20 bucks, which was all I had at the time, and they gave me the sticker.

I’m proud that I helped make a difference. And I will continue to do so.

My good pals at Soul Pancake made this awesome video, and even though I hate Valentine’s Day, this is an appropriate post for such an occasion.

this is cute.

I’ve been listening to the songs I used to be obsessed with when I was really little.

Mainly Hound Dog by Elvis. I used to have a cassette with that song and I’d go around the house with my walkman and just listen to Hound Dog over and over again. Singing my fucking heart out and surely annoying the shit out of my family.

My dad accidentally destroyed the tape when he tried to transfer it to a CD with some new machine he had bought. I was fucking devastated.

It was the only Elvis tape we owned and I don’t even know why we had it because apparently my parents didn’t even like Elvis that much. My mom always sat and watched his old movies with me. She never mentioned how much she despised them.

I really did love Elvis. The obsession died with that cassette. I still remember this one night I was brushing my hair before bed and my older brother asked what I was doing and explained my hair would just get messed up while I slept.

I told him “I want to look nice if I meet Elvis in my dreams”.

The Side Plot

Portrait/Logo

My name is Bryn. I'm 20 years old.

I have a lot of weird hobbies but I think I'm a fairly interesting person.

I was born in Arizona in 1991 and adopted at birth. I lived in Southern California for two months and then England for 6 years. After that we moved to Colorado. Now I'm back in California.

I love to read and write. I dig all types of music. Photography is a huge passion of mine. I'm also a huge movie buff.
